The tour begins at the D-Day Experience in Carentan-les-Marais, one of the first towns liberated by Allied troops during the Battle of Normandy. This unique site offers a powerful introduction to the events of D-Day through a 3D cinema, a fascinating museum, and an impressive WW2 flight simulator that brings the airborne operations to life.
You will then continue to Pointe du Hoc in Cricqueville-en-Bessin, one of the most iconic assault points of D-Day, where the US Rangers climbed the dramatic cliffs under heavy enemy fire to secure this strategic German position. The site still bears the scars of battle, making it one of the most striking stops of the tour.
Next, discover Omaha Beach, Sector Dog White, in Vierville-sur-Mer, one of the most tragic and heroic landing sectors of D-Day. Standing on this historic beach, you will gain a deeper understanding of the immense sacrifice made by Allied soldiers during one of the bloodiest moments of the Normandy landings.
The tour continues with a visit to the American Cemetery, a place of remembrance and reflection overlooking Omaha Beach. Here, thousands of perfectly aligned white crosses honor the American soldiers who gave their lives for freedom, creating one of the most moving memorials in Normandy.
