Product Info

A peaceful, private way to honor a loved one by spreading ashes at sea in Key West. This is a fully private, family-only Celebration of Life charter aboard a 30-foot Jeanneau NC 895 yacht — one family, one boat, one day.

Your USCG-licensed captain, Captain Nate, has run memorial charters for grieving families for years. He'll call you in advance to help plan the ceremony — the order of events, readings, music, whether he says a few words or stays quietly in the background, how to time the wind, and how to release flowers so they float rather than blow back.

On the day of your charter, you'll depart from Perry Hotel & Marina at your chosen time — sunrise, midday, or sunset. The captain selects a calm-water route based on wind, current, and sea conditions, then motors to an EPA-compliant location at least 3 nautical miles from shore, well outside marked swim zones and channels. Engines are cut for the ceremony, and the family holds the service at its own pace — readings, music, the scattering, and biodegradable flowers if desired.

Afterward, families are welcome to stay together on the water — toast, share stories, and cruise back at their own rhythm. Six Fins files the standard Burial-at-Sea notification with the EPA within 30 days of the scattering; a copy can be provided on request.

The 30-ft Jeanneau NC 895 is a yacht, not a tour boat — a shaded cabin, private enclosed head, wide stable decks, easy dock access, and a quiet, smooth ride. Guests with mobility limits, seasickness concerns, or small children are welcome; please mention these on the planning call so we can prepare.
