There is nothing else like this in Treviso. While most experiences in the city take you through canals, vineyards, and pasta kitchens, this one opens a completely different door — into the ancient world of Persian carpet-making, kept alive by a family who has dedicated generations to this craft.
You are welcomed into the showroom with a cup of traditional Persian tea, served the way it has been served for centuries in Iran — warm, fragrant, and unhurried. This is not a sales visit. This is a cultural experience, and the difference is felt from the first moment.
The session begins with the story of the family and their relationship with Persian carpets — how they came to Treviso, how they have preserved these traditions, and what it means to carry on a craft that is listed by UNESCO as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
From there, the experience moves into the heart of what makes Persian carpets remarkable. You will learn to read the patterns — the flowers, the medallions, the geometric forms that are not decoration but language. Each symbol carries meaning: fertility, protection, paradise, eternity. You will understand the colors — how natural dyes were made from pomegranate, saffron, and walnut, and why synthetic dyes changed the craft forever.
Then comes the hands-on part. You will examine fine carpets up close — touching the pile, studying the back, counting the knots. A high-quality handmade carpet can have up to a million knots per square meter, each tied by hand. You will learn exactly how to tell the difference between a genuine hand-knotted Persian carpet and a machine-made imitation — a skill that takes specialists years to develop, condensed into a clear and practical lesson.
The session closes with 2–3 rare or antique pieces from the collection, each with its own story. Where it was made, who made it, how long it took, and what makes it irreplaceable. You will have time for photos, questions, and open conversation.
This experience is for curious travelers, design lovers, art enthusiasts, and anyone who wants to step beyond the obvious and discover something genuinely rare in a city that has plenty of charm but very few experiences like this one.
