Información del producto

Rome, late 16th century. The streets of the Campo Marzio resound with voices, blades, and prayers. This is where your journey begins, following in the footsteps of Michelangelo Merisi da Caravaggio: a rebellious painter, a restless genius, a man of light and shadow.

The tour begins in Via della Pallacorda, where a duel changed the artist's life forever. Here you will discover the rivalries, passions, and secrets of a Rome populated by merchants, cardinals, and swordsmen.

Continuing towards the Church of San Luigi dei Francesi, you will enter the Contarelli Chapel, where Caravaggio transformed faith into theater. His canvases – The Calling of St. Matthew, The Martyrdom of St. Matthew, and St. Matthew and the Angel – will tell you about the birth of a new language, made up of divine light and human faces.

A few steps further on, in the Church of Sant'Agostino, you will encounter The Madonna of Pilgrims: a real, barefoot Virgin who welcomes two tired worshippers as if they were friends of the house. Here, the genius of Merisi challenges convention and still moves those who look at it.

The route continues in the Church of Santa Maria del Popolo, where two monumental canvases – Saint Paul's Conversion and the Crucifixion of Saint Peter – explode with light and drama. Here Caravaggio reaches his full maturity, and every brushstroke seems like a held breath.

Between one story and the next, you'll cross Vicolo del Divino Amore, where the artist lived during his time in Rome. The narrow alleyways and shops still seem to hold his restless shadow.

Finally, the tour ends in the Church of San Giovanni dei Fiorentini, where – according to tradition – his remains rest. It is a place of silence and peace, perfect for concluding a journey that speaks of art, redemption and a life lived with passion.

An experience that is not just a guided visit, but a story told on the go: the story of a man and the city that inspired him, between sin and holiness, light and darkness.
