Product Info

This tour combines expert storytelling, authentic WWII locations, and a unique vintage vehicle to offer a deeper understanding of Warsaw’s wartime history—ideal for travelers seeking insight, context, and emotional depth beyond standard sightseeing.

Your guide introduces the international situation before 1939, the German invasion of Poland, and the simultaneous Soviet occupation of eastern territories. Learn how these events affected daily life in Warsaw and led to the development of one of Europe’s most extensive resistance movements.

A central part of the tour focuses on the tragedy of Warsaw’s Jewish population. Before the war, the city was home to around 300,000 Jews. In 1940, Nazi authorities created the Warsaw Ghetto, imprisoning hundreds of thousands of people in inhumane conditions. You’ll visit preserved fragment of the former Ghetto Wall.

At Waliców Street, see one of the last ruined tenement houses left intentionally unrestored, standing as a physical witness to the destruction. Nearby, learn about the famous wooden ghetto bridge over Chłodna Street, built high above street traffic to connect the two sealed sections of the ghetto.

Continue to the Muranów district, constructed entirely on wartime rubble. Visit the area around the Monument to the Ghetto Heroes and the POLIN Museum of the History of Polish Jews, located near the site of the first armed clashes of the 1943 Ghetto Uprising. Today, this area is also a place of remembrance and dialogue.

The tour also covers Soviet crimes against Polish citizens, including mass deportations to Siberia and the Katyń massacres, commemorated at the Monument to the Fallen and Murdered in the East.

The final chapter focuses on the Warsaw Uprising of 1944, the city’s last attempt to regain independence before the arrival of the Red Army. After its defeat, Nazi forces deliberately destroyed most of Warsaw. The Soviet army entered the ruins in January 1945, beginning a new political era.

Throughout the tour, archival photographs help bring the past to life, allowing you to compare wartime images with today’s streets. Traveling by retro Żuk minibus adds historical atmosphere while allowing you to cover more ground comfortably.
