Product Info

Begin at the ruins of the Teutonic Castle, the first stronghold built by the Order on the Vistula River. Learn how the komtur and his knights lived, how the castle functioned, and why it was destroyed during the 1454 uprising. Hear stories of the Toruń dragon, secret tunnels, and medieval punishments.

Continue along the preserved defensive walls, gates, and towers, including the Gdanisko tower and the Holy Spirit Gate. Your guide will explain how Toruń’s fortifications made it one of the most secure cities in the region.

Visit the famous Leaning Tower and uncover the legend of the sinful knight whose punishment gave the tower its unusual tilt. Walk toward the Vistula River to see historic granaries and learn how trade routes and the Hanseatic League shaped Toruń’s wealth.

Follow the Royal Route through Gothic streets and merchant houses before entering the Cathedral of St. John, home to the massive medieval bell Tuba Dei and the baptismal font of Nicolaus Copernicus.

See the exterior of the Copernicus House and learn about the astronomer’s family and life in 15th-century Toruń. The tour concludes at the Old Town Square, surrounded by the Town Hall, Artus Court, Kamienica Pod Gwiazdą, and the monuments of Copernicus and the Flisak.
