Do you want to experience the Northern Lights during your stay in Tromsø? Join our small-group minibus tour, led by dedicated local guides and an experienced Arctic driver. Arctic Glow is a family-run company, built by a local couple born and raised in Northern Norway. Every evening throughout the season, we head out on a Northern Lights chase with guests from all over the world.

Every tour starts with a plan based on the latest weather forecasts and aurora activity. As the weather changes, we change with it. Throughout the evening we follow live webcams and weather data from across the region. Some nights we find clear skies close to Tromsø; other nights we follow the coastline, head inland through snow-covered landscapes, or cross into Finland or Sweden in search of a clear sky. This is our home region, and by combining local knowledge with real-time weather information, we make the best decisions throughout the evening.

Each evening is unique, and our chase adapts to the night's conditions to give you the best possible chance of seeing the Northern Lights. Travelling in a Mercedes Sprinter minibus with up to 19 guests gives us the flexibility to change plans quickly and reach quieter locations away from the busiest viewpoints.

While you enjoy the moment beneath the Northern Lights, your guide — an experienced photographer — captures both portraits under the aurora and images of the surrounding Arctic landscape. Working together, we take time to create natural, high-quality portraits that reflect both the beauty of the Northern Lights and the atmosphere of the Arctic night. A selection of the best photos is carefully edited and emailed to you the following day.

During the tour, we take time to enjoy hot chocolate, coffee or tea, together with traditional Norwegian snacks and homemade cake. These breaks are also a chance to gather, share stories, and answer questions about life in Northern Norway and the Arctic. We also explain the science behind the Northern Lights and what creates this remarkable natural phenomenon.

At the end of the evening, we return to Tromsø city centre. To ensure a smooth return for all guests, we offer drop-offs at the meeting point, hotels in the city centre, Tromsø Library, and the central taxi rank. We can also drop you off at the Arctic Cathedral or Pyramiden Shopping Centre in Tromsdalen.
