Información del producto

Discover a side of Amsterdam few visitors ever see on this immersive 4-hour private bike tour led by a highly experienced Dutch local guide with deep expertise in regional history and architecture.
After picking up your bikes a a shop near Central Station, you’ll cross the IJ by ferry, gliding over the same waters that once formed Amsterdam’s Golden Age harbor. Your guide brings this maritime history to life, explaining how trade, water management, and innovation shaped the city. From there, you cycle into Amsterdam-Noord to Schoonschip, a pioneering eco-friendly floating neighborhood. Here you’ll learn how residents designed—and in some cases built—their own houseboats, creating a modern community focused on sustainability and innovative living on the water.
The route continues past Krijtmolen d’Admiraal, a rare surviving windmill still in use, before entering Nieuwendammerdijk, where traditional wooden houses line the dike, offering a glimpse into village life as it once was. As the city fades behind you, open farmland appears. In Ransdorp, surrounded by fields and distinctive pyramid-shaped farmhouses, your guide explains rural traditions and the importance of dairy farming for the Dutch.
Cycling onward to Durgerdam, you’ll enjoy peaceful views of a large lake, a charming yacht harbor, and colorful houses perched along the dike. Crossing the Schellingwouderbrug provides sweeping vistas of water, countryside, and the contrasting historic and modern faces of Amsterdam. The return journey passes De Gooyer windmill and concludes at the National Maritime Museum, housed in an original Golden Age building that once formed part of the historic wharf of the Dutch East India Company. After this you'll return your bikes to the conveniently located bike shop near the Central Station.
Throughout the tour, you’ll experience ever-changing scenery—urban waterfronts, quiet villages, open landscapes, and innovative architecture—while gaining rich insight into Dutch history, sustainability, and daily life, all at a relaxed cycling pace tailored to you.
