Private guide in Sólheimasandur: Unique hiking tour between the plane wreck and the glacier｜Iceland

Discover two iconic landscapes of southern Iceland on a completely private full-day hiking tour, accompanied by your French-speaking live guide and photographer. Throughout the experience, I will take photos of your group so that you can fully enjoy the day while leaving with beautiful souvenirs of your adventure in Iceland.

I will pick you up directly from your accommodation in Reykjavik or nearby. Designed for a group of 1 to 4 people, this private day trip focuses on walking, rugged landscapes, and a pace tailored to your interests.

We will start by heading to Sólheimasandur, a vast black sand plain with an almost surreal landscape. A round-trip hike of approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes will take us to the famous DC-3 wreck. Abandoned since 1973 in the middle of this vast volcanic expanse, the plane has become one of the most striking sights in Iceland.

The hike is an integral part of the experience: we will take the time to appreciate the atmosphere of the site, the landscapes and the changing light. As a photographer, I will also be present to capture these moments along the way, in a natural way, without turning the hiking tour into a photo shoot.

We will then continue to Sólheimajökull Glacier. Another hike will allow us to explore its surroundings and observe the spectacular contrasts between ice, volcanic rock, mountains, and black sand. I will accompany you to help you better understand the evolution of the glacier and the landscapes shaped by Icelandic nature, while continuing to photograph your experience.

This experience is above all a full-day hiking tour and exploration on foot, ideal for those who want to discover the south of Iceland in a more personal way, away from large groups, with the support of a private guide and photographer.

☝ All our experiences are offered in a private group, in order to offer you a more flexible, more comfortable day that is fully adapted to your pace. Transportation is included: I can pick you up directly from your hotel, Airbnb, or other location of your choice, and then drop you off at another location at the end of the experience if that makes things easier for you, for example, at the airport.
