Información del producto

We meet in Ochoz u Brna—a quiet village just 15 minutes from Brno (I’ll share simple bus directions). From here we set off back in time. At our first limestone outcrop I explain, in kid-friendly words, how more than 360 million years ago this area lay under a warm sea and the building blocks of today’s karst began to form.

Following gentle forest paths, we trace the journey of water across the landscape: sinkholes where streams disappear underground, dry valleys carved by ancient rivers, and a spring where the water returns to daylight. Along the way we notice the small wonders of a protected karst habitat—shade-loving plants and cool-adapted creatures that thrive around rock and drip.

Next, we reach rock shelters and small caves once used by Neanderthals. Where conditions allow, we step into selected easy sections—I provide headlamps and keep it safe and short, with no squeezing or scary drops. Kids love a brief, optional lights-off moment to feel “cave night,” followed by simple talk about bats, cave spiders and cave etiquette.

Our timeline moves forward—from the ancient sea to visible Ice Age traces—and back to today’s cared-for landscape. We finish back in Ochoz u Brna, where you can round off the adventure at a much-loved local bistro: good coffee, tasty bites and a great children’s corner so little legs can unwind while parents exhale.

Recordatorios

  • What To Bring: Hiking shoes

  • Know Before You Go: I recommend sturdy shoes suitable for uneven terrain, as the limestone in the Karst can be slippery. Wear clothes that you don’t mind getting a bit dirty when exploring caves and quarries.
