Know Before You Go: Coasteering involves climbing, swimming, and jumping in order to navigate the intertidal zone. You will be scrambling over potentially slippery surfaces and propelling yourself at times from considerable height into cold water. Coasteering is a physically demanding activity that requires a certain level of fitness. The National Coasteering Charter recognizes that well-managed coasteering activity reduces the risk of serious injury and death to an acceptable level. It does not remove it entirely. Participants in these activities should be aware of and accept these risks and be responsible for their own actions and involvement
