Información del producto

Koblenz, the city where the Moselle River flows into its "mother" river, the Rhine, is the gateway to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Middle Rhine Valley, the starting point for hikes and boat trips through the natural landscape full of hills, vineyards, and castles in the most romantic corner of Germany.

We begin our tour from the central square/Zentralplatz, where the new modern "Forum Confluentes" complex with the tourism office is located, and then, just a few steps away, we enter the pedestrianized historic old town with its numerous squares and picturesque houses.

We'll come to the Town Hall, a former Jesuit college, where Koblenz's most entertaining fountain stands in the inner courtyard: let yourself be surprised!

Along the narrow streets of the city center, we also find the remains of Roman walls, thus discovering the origins of the city; right above these stands the main church, Our Lady's, which features a mix of Romanesque, Gothic and Baroque architecture.

Once we reach St. Florinus Square, we will see the monument to Nicholas of Cusa, a brilliant 15th-century philosopher, theologian, and astronomer, and discover fascinating aspects of his life. A little further on is the ancient "house of commerce and celebration", where a mask looks at us with strange eyes and sticks its tongue out at us!

Going down along the Moselle River, we enter the most spectacular part, with the historic stone Baldovino Bridge, and among palm trees and flower-filled meadows we reach the Deutsches Eck, the most famous German corner, where the two rivers converge.

There stands the Koblenz Colossus: the almost 40 m high monument to Emperor Wilhelm I on horseback. Learn all about its history and events before, during, and after World War II.

After a visit to the nearby basilica of St. Castor with the Ludwig Museum of Contemporary Art, the tour will conclude there at the Deutsches Eck, from where you can take the beautiful cable car to reach the hill of Ehrenbreitstein opposite, or embark on a short cruise on the Rhine, or simply sip a glass of fine Rhine or Moselle white wine.
