Product Info

Five days. One base. One guide who knows every road, every trail,
and every story between Brașov and the Carpathian ridgeline.

This itinerary is built around Brașov as your hub — you return
here each evening. No packing and unpacking. No logistics to
manage. Each morning, your private guide picks you up and takes
you somewhere completely different from the day before.

DAY 1 — Brașov: City Layers & Hidden Trails
The day begins on foot. Your guide leads a walking tour through
Brașov's medieval Old Town — the Black Church with its 119
Anatolian carpets, the hidden fortifications behind the main
square, and the Saxon merchant history that shaped this city for
five centuries. In the afternoon, the tour continues to Pietrele
lui Solomon for an intro section of Via Transilvanica — National
Geographic top 25 destination for 2025. Dinner table arranged
in the Old Town, meal paid directly.

DAY 2 — 7 Ladders Canyon & Piatra Craiului
Seven chambers carved by centuries of waterfall erosion, iron
ladders bolted into the rock face, water running alongside you
throughout. At the upper exit, an optional zip-line with 37
sections descends through the Carpathian forest — paid on site.
The afternoon moves to Piatra Craiului National Park — villages
of Magura and Peștera at 1,000 metres. A traditional Romanian
mountain picnic is served at the vehicle: telemea, salam,
cașcaval, ceapă roșie, zacuscă — kept cold in the vehicle
refrigerator.

DAY 3 — Bear Watching & Szekely Enclave
The emotional centre of the five days. The observation hide is
professional, fully enclosed, and weatherproof. Sessions run
during peak bear activity — late afternoon and early evening.
Wild, unhabituated Carpathian brown bears at close range. If
no bears appear, you receive a full refund on the spot. No forms,
no conditions. The return passes through the Szekely enclave —
your guide provides context throughout.

DAY 4 — UNESCO Saxon Heritage
Three UNESCO World Heritage sites in one day. Biertan: three
concentric walls, nine towers, a lock shown at the 1900 Paris
Exhibition, and a divorce room where couples were locked together
for two weeks. The Saxon divorce rate was effectively zero.
Sighișoara: the only inhabited medieval citadel in Europe,
birthplace of Vlad the Impaler. Viscri: King Charles III returns
here annually. Traditional lunch with local producers available
— paid on site.

DAY 5 — Royal Castles
Peleș Palace — Europe's first electrified castle, Gustav Klimt
ceiling paintings, hidden door in the Royal Library. Bran Castle
— the real history and the Dracula legend, explained honestly.
Râșnov Fortress — hilltop panorama across the Bârsa valley.
The tour ends in Brașov or at a pre-arranged drop-off in
Bucharest or Sibiu.
Note: most museums in Romania are closed on Mondays.
Your guide will advise on the day which interiors
are accessible and adjust the visit accordingly.
