Experience the heart of Oman – privately, in German, and without time pressure.

This full-day tour from Muscat takes you to Nizwa, the old capital of Oman, and up to Jebel Akhdar, the "Green Mountain". You will travel exclusively with your own group (max. 4 people) – accompanied by me, Mohammed, an Omani guide with experience in Germany. I know what German-speaking guests value: quality, organization and personal service without any rush.

In Nizwa, we will visit the famous 17th-century fortress with its round defensive tower and magnificent views over the date palms, and stroll through the traditional souq with silversmiths, spices, and Omani halva.

After that, we head up to over 2,000 meters: The ascent to Jebel Akhdar is only allowed with 4x4 vehicles – you will travel comfortably and safely in our private, air-conditioned 4x4. At the top, it is often 10–15 degrees cooler than in Muscat. From the famous Diana Point, you can enjoy the spectacular view of the gorge – then we will stroll through the terraced villages of Al Ain, Al Aqur, and Ash Shirayjah with their rose gardens and fruit terraces. Depending on your mood and time, there is room for a cup of Omani coffee with a mountain view.

On the way back, we stop at Birkat Al Mouz: Here you will see the traditional Falaj irrigation system (UNESCO World Heritage), old mud houses, and extensive date palm gardens.

During the trip, I will tell you about history, religion, family and everyday life in Oman – and, thanks to my time in Germany, also about the differences and similarities between the two cultures.
