Manuel Antonio National Park — Naturalist Guided Tour (park ticket included · meet at the entrance)

Manuel Antonio holds one of the highest densities of wildlife of any park in Costa Rica, and most of it is invisible to the untrained eye. A sloth twenty meters up looks like a termite nest. A camouflaged viper looks like a leaf. That is the entire reason to walk these trails with a naturalist instead of walking them alone.

Waköö Tours is a family-run company based in Manuel Antonio. Every guide on our team is certified by the Costa Rican Tourism Board (ICT) and has more than ten years of field experience in this park specifically — not in tourism generally, in these trails. That distinction is the difference between walking past wildlife and stopping in front of it.

WHAT MAKES THIS TOUR DIFFERENT

Groups are capped at 10 travelers per guide. Smaller groups mean we stop when there is something worth seeing, not when the schedule says so, and everyone gets a turn at the scope instead of a glimpse over someone's shoulder.

Every guide carries a Swarovski ATX spotting scope — the same optics professional birding guides use worldwide. It is the single best piece of equipment available for this kind of work, and it is what lets you see a three-toed sloth's face instead of a grey shape in the canopy. Your guide will set your phone against the eyepiece so you leave with photos worth keeping, and everything shot during the walk is sent to you the same day at no extra cost.

WHAT YOU MIGHT SEE

Two- and three-toed sloths, white-faced capuchins, howler and squirrel monkeys, toucans, iguanas, poison dart frogs, eyelash vipers, bats, land crabs, and a long list of birds. Wildlife is wild and nothing can be guaranteed — but a decade of knowing where to look, at what time, and in which tree changes the odds considerably. Our guides find animals that groups walking past never notice.

YOUR PARK TICKET IS INCLUDED — WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU

Manuel Antonio caps daily entries and time slots sell out days ahead in high season. We purchase your ticket for you, but the park requires each traveler's details to issue it.

Right after booking, please send us the full name, passport number and nationality of every traveler in your group. You can send it through the KKday chat, or by WhatsApp to +506 8514-1361, whichever is easier for you. The sooner we receive it, the sooner your entry is confirmed.

BEFORE THE TOUR

The night before, you receive a WhatsApp message with a photo of the exact meeting point, a photo of your guide so you know who to look for, and what to bring. Nothing is left to guess.

The tour starts at the park entrance and finishes at Manuel Antonio Beach, where you are free to stay, swim, or keep walking the trails on your own for as long as the park is open.
