Baku: Traditional Carpet Weaving Experience with Mini Carpet Gift｜Azerbaijan

This special carpet weaving experience held in Baku is designed for those who wish to get to know and personally experience carpet weaving, one of Azerbaijan's most deeply rooted arts. This is not just a workshop; it is a cultural journey where tradition, labor, and art intertwine.

The experience begins in a traditional carpet workshop. Master weavers welcome you and first explain the history of Azerbaijani carpets, the meaning of the patterns, and the techniques used. You will discover that every motif has a story and every loop has a meaning.

Then it's your turn.

You start weaving a carpet under the guidance of the masters. You learn to make the knots, choose the colors, and watch the carpet gradually take shape. This process is both instructive and quite enjoyable. You will only make a few knots. It will take months to make a carpet. Please don't think that you will weave a carpet completely.


At the end of the workshop:

You will take the mini carpet with you as a souvenir

It is not possible to weave a complete carpet during this tour. It takes approximately 6 months to make a carpet. Only the carpet-making technique will be demonstrated. Please note this.
