Product Info

Cross the Andes on a full-day tour led by a local guide who narrates the region in Spanish, English or Portuguese — turning the drive along Route 7 into a story of the old Trasandino railway, the Río Mendoza and the mountain villages that grew up around them.

Travel in a small group of 15 in a modern, heated vehicle. Leave Mendoza at 7:15 and climb into the pre-cordillera for a first stop at Dique Potrerillos, a turquoise reservoir framed by the mountains. Continue through the Uspallata valley for a break, then follow the river upstream to Puente del Inca, where mineral-stained rock arches form one of the Andes' most photographed natural bridges.

A short drive further reaches the Aconcagua viewpoint. Note: the summit (6,961m) is seen from a mountain mirador roughly 60 km away — the tour does not approach the base of the peak, but on clear days the view is unmistakable.

The route ends at Villa Las Cuevas, the last village before Chile. From January to March, weather and road permitting, you can optionally ascend to the Cristo Redentor at 4,200m at no extra cost.
