Product Info

The historic Cruce de los Andes is a horseback journey that speaks for itself, the birthplace of great stories and breathtaking landscapes. This unique experience runs through the Andes Range, the world's largest mountain system, shaped by volcanoes, glaciers, and the passage of time, and home to amazing biodiversity.

At Gaucho Argentino, we invite you to experience an exclusive program that reaches 11,800 feet (3,600m) in altitude, crossing high mountains, huge precipices, and wide valleys, following in the centuries-old footsteps of the gauchos to the border with Chile, at the iconic Hito Pichi Trolón, west of Malargüe. During the tour, you will share authentic moments with the inhabitants of this isolated region, learning about their culture, hospitality, and way of life.

You'll ride through landscapes of snow-capped ridges, volcanic craters, and unique geological formations, vestiges of an ancient seabed where fossils of oysters, bivalves, and giant snails can still be found today. The silence of the mountain range, the strong winds, and the immensity of the surroundings invite introspection and a deep connection with nature.

You can spend the nights in a tent or under the open sky, under an exceptional firmament where the Milky Way, the Magellanic Clouds, and Omega Centauri are clearly visible, a sky unlike any other. The journey begins with a night in a mountain hostel, where the group is introduced and the necessary logistics are arranged. An intense, historic, and transformative journey for those seeking an authentic experience in the heart of the Andes.
