8-Day Wildlife Safari: Gorilla, Chimps, Big Five & Lake Kivu｜Rwanda

Day 1: Arrival at Kigali Airport – meets with a professional guide and the Transfer to your Hotel.

Day 2: Pick up from Kigali to Nyungwe

An early morning after breakfast drive to Nyungwe forest. On the way visit Nyanza King’s Palace. Nyanza was the headquarters of the ancient Rwanda Kingdom before the arrival of the Europeans. Overnight at the lodge

Day 3: chimpanzee Trekking in Nyungwe and Canopy walk

Early morning at 5:00am enter Nyungwe forest to track the Nyungwe chimpanzees. A walk in the forest is a whole learning experience conducted by knowledgeable guides well versed in botany, ornithology and interspecies relationship in this forest. Thereafter noon you will visit the canopy walkway and return to your lodge for overnight stay.

Day 4: Nyungwe - Kibuye- Volcanoes

After breakfast, drive to Kibuye. The drive from Nyungwe to Kibuye is via the most beautiful providing spectacular views of the lake Kivu tea growing and coffee plants. Brief stops are provided for photography. Depending on your choice here you can do a boat tour in Lake Kivu to explore 3 islands.
Afternoon proceed to the volcanoes overnight stay at the lodge and rest

Day 5: Gorilla trekking & Ibyiwacu cultural village

After your Breakfast at early morning drive to Kinigi park headquarters about 15 minutes. guide allocation and briefing. This is followed by a drive to the trailheads where hiking and trekking up the hills to the bamboo zone begins. trekking gorillas may take 2- 6 hours Sight and stay with the Gorillas 1 hour. And back to your lodge for lunch, after your lunch, you will visit Gorilla guardian village and
Overnight stay at lodge.

Day 6: Volcanoes- Akagera National Park

In the morning after breakfast, transfer to Akagera National Park. Stopovers, lunch provided with panoramic views. Upon arrival in the park after check in you will choose what to do according to how you will be feeling, either boat tour or night Safari or relax at the lodge. Day 7: Full Game drive in Akagera Park

Early breakfast at 6:45am; in preparation for an early game drive. A good day to see other wildlife besides birds such as the Lions,Rhinos, Elephants, Buffalos, Leopards, giraffes, Zebras, Hippos, crocodiles and numerous of antelopes, in addition to the 525 birds species including some Albertine rift endemics recorded in this park. We will search for the shoe bill stork around Birengero and Rwanyakizinga lake. Diversity of reptiles, amphibians, plants, magnificent landscapes, historical sites etc. The park is known for holding the highest concentration of birds per square kilometer in any national park of Africa. Dinner and overnight at Akagera Mantis lodge.

Day 8: Akagera park- Kigali and departure

In the morning after breakfast drive from Akagera park to Kigali, city tour including Kigali genocide memorial, art galleries, visit Kimironko market to buy some souvenirs and proceed to the airport for your flight.
