--- The sightseeing train "GRAN Tenku" that takes you on a journey to Mount Koya ---

Operation starts on April 24, 2026!

Enjoy a journey aboard the sightseeing train "GRAN Tenku," where the ride itself becomes a trip. (Nankai Namba Station → Gokurakubashi Station)

--- [World Heritage Site] Mount Koya ---

At the beginning of the Heian period, Shingon Esoteric Buddhism was spread throughout Japan, and it served as a training ground for monks.

Mount Koya is a sacred site of Japanese Buddhism, founded by Kobo Daishi.

It is one of Japan's three most sacred sites, along with Mount Osore and Mount Hiei.

Mount Koya is known as "Issan Keidaichi" (one mountain as temple grounds), meaning that every part of Mount Koya is part of the temple grounds, and the entire mountain is considered a temple.

◆Inner Sanctuary

This is the center of faith at Mount Koya and a sacred site where Kobo Daishi (Kukai) entered eternal meditation.

◆ Danjo Garan

Danjo Garan, along with Okunoin, is considered one of the two major sacred sites of Koyasan.

Danjō Garan means "a tranquil garden where monks practice asceticism."

The 19 buildings, including the "Kondo," the main hall of the entire Koyasan area, and the Tahoto pagoda, are arranged in a unique layout specific to Koyasan.
