Discover Korea’s chimaek culture through a hands-on cooking experience. Chimaek combines Korean fried chicken with beer, but you are welcome to choose a soft drink instead.

At OAVO Seoul Lounge in Hongdae, join a 60-minute guided cooking class. Learn the Korean fried chicken cooking process and prepare yangnyeom sauce to create both crispy fried chicken and sweet-and-spicy glazed chicken. Step-by-step instructions make the class accessible to beginners.

Afterwards, settle into the lounge and enjoy your chicken with your chosen drink. Allow 60–90 minutes for your meal, bringing the full experience to approximately 2–2.5 hours. Dining is self-paced, with staff available if you need assistance.

Solo travelers, couples, friends, and families are welcome. Children and teenagers must attend with a parent or guardian, and minors are served soft drinks. Hot-oil tasks are managed by the host and performed only by adults under guidance.

No previous cooking experience is needed. Children and teenagers must attend with a parent or guardian.

All paying participants receive the same ingredients and experience. Children do not take part in hot-oil tasks.

They may join age-appropriate preparation, sauce-making, and plating activities.

Minors are served soft drinks. Wear comfortable clothing and closed-toe shoes, and tie back long hair. Identification may be requested for age verification

if you choose beer. Please message us on Airbnb before booking if you have food allergies or dietary restrictions.

This experience uses chicken and takes place in a shared kitchen, where cross-contact with allergens may occur.

From Hongik University Station Take the subway to Hongik University Station (Hongdae Station). Exit through Exit 9. Walk straight for approximately 5 minutes. Look for the entrance to Hongdae Playground. OAVO Seoul Lounge is located in the small alley about 2 minutes from Hongdae Playground. Because the venue is located inside an alley, it may be difficult to find by searching only the street address. Please use the map link below and follow the walking directions: Open OAVO Seoul Lounge on Google Maps Taxi Instructions Show this address to your driver: OAVO Seoul Lounge, near Hongdae Playground, 358-80 Seogyo-dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul The taxi may stop on the main street because the venue is inside a narrow alley.
