Begin your adventure with a private hotel pickup between 1:00 AM from area Sanur, Kuta, canggu, Jimbaran, Nusadua and 2:30 AM, from Ubud. Arrive at the base of the active volcano around 3:30 AM, where you’ll meet your local trekking guide, grab a flashlight, and begin the hike in the cool night air.
Trek up mount Batur, which stands at 1,717 meters above sea level. The hike typically takes about 1.5 to 2 hours to reach the summit, depending on fitness level. Once at the top, be rewarded with sweeping panoramic views as the sun breaks over the horizon, casting golden hues over the neighboring Mount Agung, Mount Abang, and the glassy expanse of Lake Batur below.
After the sunrise, continue to walk to the hot steam where you can boil eggs and bananas for breakfast. Then, hike back down the mountain and head directly to the nearby geothermal pools situated along the edge of the lake.
