Set against the backdrop of the 19th-century Paris Opera, the story depicts the mysterious "Phantom" hiding in the opera house's underground world, secretly nurturing the young soprano Christine DaaƩ to become a stage star, and unfolding a moving story of love, jealousy, and redemption with the nobleman Raoul.
