Using Fast Lane tickets, we skip the queues and ride the funicular railway up to the summit, where you’ll have time to explore and take in sweeping panoramic views across the island and mainland.

We then continue to Kek Lok Si Temple, one of Southeast Asia’s largest and most important Buddhist temple complexes. Here, our guide introduces the history, symbolism, and architecture of the site, from its multi-tiered pagoda to the hillside terraces and statues. You’ll also have free time to explore the grounds at your own pace.

Next, we stop at a trusted local eatery to taste Penang’s most iconic dish — assam laksa. This bold, tangy noodle soup, flavoured with tamarind, fish, and fresh herbs, is widely recognised as one of the world’s great street food dishes. After the tasting, sit back and enjoy a scenic drive along Gurney Drive toward George Town, passing reminders of Penang’s colonial past along the waterfront.
