To cool down, after previous experience, swim in two majestic cenotes and the beautiful canal. The Carlota cenote will welcome you with its crystal-clear waters to refresh you. This cenote owes its name to the fact that in 1865 the Empress of Mexico, Carlota, on a trip to the Yucatan Peninsula bound for Campeche, arrived in Mucuyché and became the first person to bathe in its waters. In the cave-type “Azul Maya” cenote, you'll discover why the ancient Mayans considered these sites sacred.
