Product Info
- Why not experience the beautiful starry sky and mysterious night of Iriomote Island? We will travel by car to a secret spot where you can see the starry sky in 360 degrees. Please bring your camera as we will also take commemorative photos. We provide pick-up and drop-off services for accommodations in the western area of Iriomote Island. Even if it is cloudy and the stars are not visible, we will go out to explore the mysteries of the Iriomote night. From May to October, you can also see the Barringtonia racemosa (Sagari-bana) in bloom. Although the chances are low, you might even encounter the Iriomote cat, the greatest mystery of Iriomote Island. The tour runs from 20:30 to 22:00 (21:00–22:30 in summer) and is guided by the Iriomote Island Chura-boshi Association (Dark Sky Park) and a Starry Sky Meister.
- Many participants have never seen shooting stars or the Milky Way before.
- For those who live in the city and have never really seen the stars, you will be able to see the full view of the Milky Way, as well as Vega and Altair for the first time. You might also see shooting stars, artificial satellites, and constellations of stars born in the night sky. Our guide will use a laser pointer to explain the stars in an easy-to-understand way.
- I want to encounter nocturnal creatures I have never seen before.
- Even if the stars are not very visible, we will go looking for various creatures that are active at night. We will travel to various places by car, so if you are lucky, you might encounter the Iriomote cat, a special natural monument. You can also see the popular Barringtonia racemosa in bloom and be healed by its enchanting fragrance.
- For those who have finally taken a break and want to be healed by the nature of the night.
- Many people come to Iriomote Island in search of great nature and want to have experiences they cannot have in the city. After a leisurely dinner, please gaze at the natural planetarium and imagine the magnificent universe.
