Nanputuo Temple is a famous ancient temple in Xiamen, situated at the foot of the Five Old Peaks, a renowned mountain on the island. Backed by beautiful peaks and facing the clear blue harbor, it boasts stunning scenery. Originally built in the Tang Dynasty, it is one of the most important Buddhist sites in southern Fujian.

Shuzhuang Garden offers a glimpse into the elegance and grandeur of traditional Chinese gardens. Unlike the delicate beauty of typical Jiangnan gardens, it incorporates a section of the sea into the garden, creating a harmonious blend of mountains and ocean. It was the private villa of Mr. Lin Erjia, Taiwan's richest man.

At the intersection of two streets and alleys, a red brick building shaped like a sailboat stands gracefully. On Gulangyu Island, where Western-style buildings stand tall and streets and alleys are intricately intertwined, this place is known as the "most beautiful corner" because of its outstanding artistic and cultural atmosphere.

In the mid-19th century, some Westerners traveled across the ocean to Gulangyu Island and built the first church on the top of Lujiao (also known as Shanglujiao). In 1863, this neoclassical church was completed and was then called the "International Church," which is the present-day Union Church.
