Información del producto

Enjoy a private walking tour of Montmartre, starting at the foot of the hill and ending at the top with a breathtaking view over Paris.
Meet your guide at the bottom of the hill, right across from the Moulin Rouge. Learn how the old village became the artistic and bohemian heart of Paris. Discover the Belle Époque, and the artists, writers, dancers, actors and more who came out of Montmartre including Toulouse-Lautrec, Picasso, Van Gogh and many others who shaped the art world forever.
Before all that, the village was an industrial hill with dozens of windmills servicing the city, surrounded by farms, vineyards and lots of commercial activity , a working-class neighbourhood that attracted poor artists and their kind.
The hill's name goes back much further. In ancient history, the Bishop of Paris was allegedly beheaded here, becoming one of many martyrs, hence the name: the Mountain of Martyrs.
From Roman history to the Belle Époque and beyond, Montmartre still keeps giving. Your guide will walk you through beautiful streets, great atmosphere and layers of history; including the pop culture references that made the neighbourhood famous all over again, from the films Amélie and Emily in Paris to iconic photo spots like the I Love You Wall and the Maison Rose. The tour leads up to the Sacré-Cœur Basilica, with its own distinct and dark history, looking out over Paris from the highest natural point in the city. A must-see while in Paris.
