  • 〈STEP 1〉 Start fishing for Gurukun!
  • After arriving at the point, we will first fish for the 'Gurukun' (Double-lined fusilier), the prefectural fish of Okinawa. Gurukun are caught using a 'Sabiki' rig. This rig has six small hooks attached below a basket; you put bait called 'Oki-ami' (krill) into the basket and drop it into the sea. By jerking the rod to scatter the bait, schools of Gurukun will be drawn in. Attracted by the bait, the Gurukun will bite the hooks scattered along with the krill. Don't worry, even beginners can catch them easily! When the fish are active, you might catch two, three, or even four at once! It's like a carp streamer! Haha.
  • 〈STEP 2〉 Try live bait fishing!
  • Once you have caught enough Gurukun, let's target the big ones! The method is quite simple. Hook a caught Gurukun onto a large hook and drop it back into the sea. Reel it in a few times from the seabed and wait. When a big fish approaches, the Gurukun will start to struggle. You can feel the vibrations through the rod. When the rod bends suddenly, that is the sign that a big fish has eaten the Gurukun! Just set the hook and reel it in! It is guaranteed to be an exciting moment.
  • 〈STEP 3〉 Transform into dinner!
  • We partner with local izakayas (Japanese pubs) where you can have your catch prepared and served! If you would like this service, please provide the 'number of people and date/time' when booking! (Business hours start at 18:00, last entry at 20:00). The captain will take the fish to the izakaya after the tour! ※ Please note that we may not be able to provide this service depending on reservation status or holidays. ※ A separate cooking fee applies. ※ This service is for dinner only.
