Información del producto

—Shiga Prefectural Biwako Museum—

The Shiga Prefectural Biwako Museum, located on the Karasuma Peninsula on the shores of Lake Biwa, is a comprehensive museum that allows visitors to "understand Lake Biwa through their bodies." Lake Biwa is one of the largest lakes in Japan and is also known as an ancient lake with a history of approximately 4 million years. The museum guides visitors through a complete understanding of this "Mother Lake," from the formation of Lake Biwa and its natural environment to the historical changes in people's lives along its shores, through clearly planned exhibition areas.

The museum also features an aquarium exhibit, allowing visitors to see the "living appearance" of Biwa Lake's creatures and observe its ecosystem, including many endemic species. It is a rare comprehensive museum in Taiwan that combines natural history, cultural history, and aquarium exhibits. The museum also has experiential exhibition spaces that allow visitors to explore with their five senses, enabling children and adults alike to learn and discover through interaction.

The aquarium exhibit, "The Lake Now and Us ~Aquatic Life and Life~", features one of the largest freshwater aquariums in Japan, introducing the life of Lake Biwa and the relationship between people and lakes.
