Gokyo Lake is a breathtaking series of six high-altitude glacial lakes located in Nepal’s Everest region at an elevation of around 4,700–5,000 meters. Known for their striking turquoise-blue waters, the lakes sit beneath towering Himalayan peaks and beside the massive Ngozumpa Glacier, the longest glacier in Nepal. Considered sacred by both Hindus and Buddhists, the Gokyo Lakes hold deep spiritual significance and are part of the protected Sagarmatha National Park (UNESCO World Heritage Site). Surrounded by dramatic mountain scenery, including views of Cho Oyu, Everest, Lhotse, and Makalu, the lakes offer one of the most serene and picturesque landscapes in the Himalayas.
