The instructors hosting the Okinawa Surfing School Haisai courses are certified by the International Surfing Association (ISA) and the Nippon Surfing Association (NSA), so you can enjoy surfing with peace of mind. Because all of Okinawa's sea consists of reef breaks, surfing is only possible around high tide. With countless spots available, the support of local instructors and guides is necessary to enjoy surfing in Okinawa. From beginners to experienced surfers, our entire staff will do their best to support everyone so they can enjoy surfing in Okinawa. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask. Small-group surfing school
For those who haven't surfed in a while or want to improve further, we offer an advanced course. As it is a small-group school, feel free to ask your instructor plenty of questions about your doubts or areas where you feel stuck!! We will support you so you can improve while having fun.
Solo participants are more than welcome!!

Meeting and moving to the spot. For experienced surfers or those looking to step up, the advanced course is recommended. Don't worry if you don't have a rental car, as we provide a free pick-up service, making it perfectly fine to participate alone! (Free pick-up service available for facilities within Chatan Town). Of course, the car ride will be filled with lively talk about the ocean. Let's change into our wetsuits and head to the beach. The wave conditions are great for practice. Don't forget your sunscreen, as the UV rays are strong.

Land lesson. Ask your instructor about things you couldn't do before and do some mental training before entering the water. Checking your movements on land will help you actually perform them in the sea. Many people have a high center of gravity or keep their knees straight. Looking in the direction you want to go will also help trigger your turns. Wanting to just enjoy surfing in the Okinawa sea to your heart's content is also perfectly fine. After all, there are many ways to enjoy the sea and surfing.

Advanced surfing. The spot is uncrowded today, so it looks like we will be able to catch many waves. Since contact lenses might get washed away, we recommend using disposable ones. In fact, many surfers use contact lenses when entering the sea. The beaches in southern Okinawa are home to many sea turtles. They might pop their heads out while you are surfing, so please don't be surprised.

End of surfing and dismissal. While nervous about my first reef break, I was able to catch plenty of waves at an uncrowded spot. Having been self-taught until now, I was able to learn the basic stance, which helped me step up my surfing. After changing clothes, we will dismiss. We also offer free hotel pick-up (free pick-up service available for facilities within Chatan Town). Please come back to play in the Okinawa sea again!

Regarding cancellation of the event:

The tour may not be held due to weather conditions on the day (high waves, storms, lightning, etc.). In such cases, no cancellation fee will be charged. Please note that we cannot compensate for travel expenses or other expenses if the tour is canceled after arriving at the destination.
