Product Info

Mt. Nokogiri is known as a famous low mountain on the Boso Peninsula. Its jagged ridgeline, which looks like the teeth of a saw, and the quarry ruins where Boshu stone was extracted until the Showa era, resemble abandoned buildings, creating a popular, otherworldly space within nature.
On this tour, you will walk through the town of Kanaya, which flourished due to the stone-cutting industry, and hike up the 'Sharikido' trail, once used to transport the cut stones, with a guide. While the elevation is low, you will enjoy a hike with significant height differences, feel the breath of the craftsmen of the time, and trace the history of how Boshu stone supported Japan's modernization and declined with the flow of time.

Spectacular views of Mt. Fuji and Tokyo Bay from the observatory!
The observatory offers a panoramic view of Tokyo Bay, and on a clear day, you can see the Miura Peninsula on the opposite shore and Mt. Fuji.

Learn all about the historical background with explanations from your guide!
Along the course, you might see piles of stones, rusted machinery that is no longer in use, or letters carved into the rock face—what could they be? You can ask your guide about things you wouldn't understand just by passing by!

Plenty of photo spots!
Mt. Nokogiri is full of photo spots, including the famous 'Jigoku Nozoki'. By going with a guide, they can also help you take photos!
