Tasmania is one of the best places to view the Southern Lights, especially during the winter months from May to October, when the clear night sky makes the aurora phenomenon particularly spectacular. The Southern Lights are a natural wonder of the Earth's polar regions, appearing as brilliant green, purple, and other colored light bands dancing in the sky. Tasmania's winter, far from light pollution, offers unparalleled viewing opportunities. If the aurora index reaches 5 during your trip, you can add on a chasing the lights tour. Our Southern Lights chasing tour will take you to the best viewing spots to enjoy this feast of light and shadow from nature.
