The Ancient Oriental Museum, located in Sunshine City in Ikebukuro, Tokyo, is Japan's first museum dedicated to the ancient Orient. Its exhibits include artifacts from West Asia and Egypt, as well as archaeological materials and artifacts related to the Silk Road, which connects Eastern and Western civilizations across Eurasia. In addition, the museum displays items unearthed during archaeological excavations in Syria.

The "Collection Exhibition" showcases the museum's collections and related materials. As a crossroads of Africa, Europe, and Asia, the "Orient" has brought together and integrated diverse cultures, significantly influencing the development of human history. By viewing the artifacts and artworks left behind by the ancient Orient, visitors can gain a closer understanding of the lives of people in those times.

A limited-time exhibition will also be held from April 25, 2026 to May 6, 2026.
A special Golden Week event, "Oriental Museum Special Week: Hands-on Experience! Fun in the Oriental World," will be held.
The event will feature interactive hands-on quizzes with replicas of exhibits that can be touched, as well as jigsaw puzzles that allow participants to experience the pottery restoration process—special experience zones available only during Golden Week. Adults and children alike can easily connect with and learn about the history and culture of the ancient East through hands-on activities.
