Step into Asakusa, one of Tokyo’s most atmospheric neighborhoods, and discover the fun behind one of Japan’s beloved street sweets: taiyaki. Shaped like a fish and traditionally filled with sweet red bean paste or custard, these golden treats are a familiar sight around Japan. In this hands-on experience, you’ll prepare the dough from scratch before cooking your own taiyaki using a traditional fish-shaped mold. With three pieces to make, you can experiment with different sweet and savory fillings and create your own favorite combinations. Once your taiyaki are ready, take some time to photograph your creations before sitting down to enjoy them fresh.
