Avila’s outstanding attraction is the ancient walls, which have a perimeter of more than 2.5 km dotted with 88 towers and 9 gates. Behind this medieval bastion lies a city of immense beauty and heritage. Visit the fortified Gothic cathedral and wander around the ancient streets.

Continue to Segovia, famed for its majestic Roman aqueduct. Other attractions include the Gothic cathedral and the famous Alcazar, which was one of the inspirations for Disney’s Snow White castle. Visit Plaza Azoguejo and admire the aqueduct, which dates from the reign of Emperor Augustus. Enjoy a walking tour through the ancient streets before settling down for a gourmet lunch.
