ーProduct Introductionー
【Jidai Matsuri】
First held in 1895 to commemorate the 1100th anniversary of the relocation of the capital to Heian-kyo, this festival is counted among Kyoto's three major festivals, alongside the Aoi Matsuri and Gion Matsuri.
【Historical Costume Parade】
Approximately 2,000 citizens dressed in costumes spanning from the Meiji Restoration back to the Enryaku period recreate a thousand years of history. The parade features meticulously recreated costumes, hairstyles, and props, such as the junihitoe (twelve-layered ceremonial kimono) of Sei Shonagon and the kosode of Murasaki Shikibu. The parade also showcases the daily lives of commoners, including the Muromachi-era Rakuchu folk, Shirakawa-me, and Ohara-me, beautifully displaying the depth of Kyoto's history.
