Day 1: Vienna - Oradea
Depart from Vienna and travel toward Romania. Arrive in Oradea, one of the most elegant cities in western Romania, known for its refined architecture and Central European atmosphere. Depending on arrival time, take a short walk in the historic center. Overnight in Oradea.
Day 2: Oradea - Ardud Fortress - Karolyi Museum Satu Mare - Merry Cemetery - Sapanta-Peri - Sighetu Marmatiei
The route then continues to the Merry Cemetery in Sapanta, one of Romania’s most original and internationally known cultural attractions, famous for its colorful crosses and unique folk philosophy of life and death. A further stop is included at Sapanta-Peri, known for its impressive wooden church and strong spiritual symbolism. Arrive and overnight in Sighetu Marmatiei.
Day 3: Sighetu Marmatiei - Barsana - Egg Museum in Vama - Voronet
Depart in the morning through the traditional landscapes of Maramures. Visit Barsana Monastery, one of the most beautiful wooden monastic ensembles in Romania, admired for its architecture and peaceful setting.
Continue toward Bucovina with a stop at the Egg Museum in Vama, a distinctive cultural attraction dedicated to one of the region’s best-known artistic traditions. The day continues with a visit to Voronet Monastery, one of Romania’s most celebrated painted monasteries, renowned for its extraordinary frescoes and the famous Voronet blue. Overnight in the Gura Humorului area.
Day 4: Gura Humorului - Neamt Fortress - Vantori Park - Borsec
Depart from Bucovina toward Neamt region. Visit Neamt Fortress, one of the most important medieval fortresses in Moldavia, dramatically located and strongly connected to the history of Stephen the Great.
Continue to Vantori-Neamt Natural Park, known for its natural beauty and for being one of the few habitats of the European bison in Europe, offering a special wildlife and nature experience within the region. The route then continues toward Borsec, one of Romania’s best-known mountain resorts, valued for its fresh air and natural surroundings. Overnight in Borsec.
Day 5: Borsec - Sighisoara - Viscri - Brasov
Depart toward Transylvania. Arrive in Sighisoara, one of the best-preserved inhabited medieval citadels in Europe, with time to enjoy its historic atmosphere and main landmarks. Continue to Viscri, one of the most charming Saxon villages in Romania, known for its fortified church, traditional architecture, and authentic rural character.
The day ends in Brasov, one of the most attractive historical cities in Romania. Overnight in Brasov.
Day 6: Brasov - Bran Castle - Cantacuzino Castle - Bucharest
Take a morning visit in Brasov old town, followed by Bran Castle, one of Romania’s most iconic landmarks, appreciated for its medieval atmosphere and international fame. Continue to Cantacuzino Castle, a refined architectural landmark with a distinctive setting and strong visual appeal. Arrive in Bucharest and end of the program.
