What is Hoshino Resorts NEKOMA MOUNTAIN?

Located at the foot of Mt. Bandai in Fukushima Prefecture, Hoshino Resorts NEKOMA MOUNTAIN is formed by connecting the former Nekoma Ski Resort (North Area) and Alts Bandai Ski Resort (South Area) with a connecting lift. Spanning 189 hectares with 33 trails and 13 lifts, it is one of the largest ski resorts in Japan. With a summit elevation of 1,338 meters and a vertical drop of 638 meters, the North Area is backed by Mt. Nekoma and is famous for its high-quality powder snow that lasts until spring. The South Area faces Lake Inawashiro, and its wide, gentle slopes and excellent facilities are popular with families and beginners. Standing at the summit to admire the expansive view of Mt. Bandai and Lake Inawashiro before skiing down is an unforgettable experience.

What can you do at NEKOMA MOUNTAIN?

The trails are categorized by difficulty: 11 beginner, 16 intermediate, and 6 advanced, ranging from wide, gentle slopes for families to challenging steep runs. Powder enthusiasts can head to the tree run areas, which cover 27.5 hectares across 5 zones, to enjoy natural snow conditions among the trees. Those who enjoy jumps and rails can practice to their heart's content in the snow park. Both areas feature children's and beginner zones with magic carpets, and there is a Burton test center on-site to try out the latest snowboards. When you need a break, the Bandai Cafeteria and yama cafe (fresh crepes) at the South Area Resort Center, and the Nekoma Cafeteria in the North Area are great spots to refuel. The South Area also provides free shower rooms to make your full day of skiing more comfortable.

Should you choose a 1-day, 3-day, or 5-day lift pass?

All three types are IC card lift passes valid for both the North and South areas, allowing you to freely take the connecting lift between them. If you are only skiing for one day, a 1-day pass is sufficient. If you are staying in Bandai for several days or plan to visit multiple times during the season, the 3-day and 5-day passes do not need to be used consecutively; you can choose any operating days within the validity period. Each time you pass through the gate, one day's quota is automatically deducted, so there is no need to go to the counter for further procedures. The multi-day pass records the number of days on a single IC card, making it perfect for long-term visitors or those who visit in multiple trips, saving you the trouble of buying tickets every day.
