Please note that overtime fees will be charged based on the vehicle type if the service exceeds the allotted time.
Nara Park itself does not charge an entrance fee, allowing visitors to freely wander and interact with the wild deer. However, some specific temples, shrines, or museums located within or adjacent to the park, such as Todai-ji Temple, may have separate admission fees if you choose to enter them. The main experience of walking through the park and feeding the deer is free. To conveniently book your tour including Nara Park, you can use KKday, which offers a seamless booking experience and often includes transportation.
At Nara Park, visitors can enjoy a leisurely stroll through the expansive grounds, observe and feed the famous wild sika deer, and take memorable photos. The park also houses several significant historical and cultural sites like Todai-ji Temple with its Great Buddha statue, and Kofuku-ji Temple, where you can explore ancient architecture and serene gardens. The primary draw for many is the unique interaction with the friendly deer.
Visitors can interact with the deer in Nara Park by purchasing "shika senbei" (deer crackers) from vendors. It is recommended to feed them slowly, hold the crackers out, and bow slightly, as some deer have learned to bow back. Keep food hidden when not feeding them, avoid teasing the deer, and be mindful of your belongings, as deer can be curious. Always supervise children and avoid sudden movements to ensure a safe and enjoyable interaction.
Fushimi Inari Taisha is renowned for its thousands of vibrant vermilion torii gates that form a winding path up Mount Inari. This iconic tunnel of gates creates a unique and picturesque setting perfect for photography. As the head shrine of Inari, the Shinto god of rice, it holds significant cultural and religious importance, attracting visitors who wish to make wishes or simply marvel at its distinctive architecture and spiritual atmosphere.
During a visit to Arashiyama, key attractions include the serene Bamboo Grove, where towering bamboo stalks create a unique natural pathway. You can also explore the picturesque Togetsukyo Bridge, offering scenic views of the Hozugawa River and surrounding mountains, and visit Tenryu-ji Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage site with beautiful Zen gardens. Many visitors also enjoy strolling along the riverbanks or exploring smaller shrines and shops.
Yes, the tour typically includes the Arashiyama Torokko Train ride. This scenic train travels along the Hozugawa River, offering breathtaking views of lush valleys, seasonal foliage, and the dramatic river gorge. It's especially popular during cherry blossom season in spring and autumn for the vibrant fall colors, providing a unique perspective of Arashiyama's natural beauty and the surrounding natural landscape.
The tour allocates approximately 150 minutes (2 hours and 30 minutes) for free exploration in Arashiyama. This generous timeframe allows visitors to independently discover popular spots like the Bamboo Grove, Togetsukyo Bridge, and other charming areas at their own pace. You can use this time to wander, take photos, enjoy local snacks, or explore local crafts, ensuring a personalized and fulfilling experience.
Yes, this specific tour provides both Chinese and English-speaking guides. The guides accompany the group, offering insights and assistance throughout the day as you visit attractions like Nara Park, Fushimi Inari Taisha, and Arashiyama. This ensures a smoother and more informative travel experience, allowing you to learn more about the history and culture of these iconic Kansai destinations while enjoying guided commentary.
