Product Info

Rise early and get ready for an unforgettable journey through history and nature. Whether you choose the iconic Inca Trail or the remote Quarry Trail, every step brings you closer to stunning landscapes, hidden ruins, and the magic of Machu Picchu.

Your journey starts with a mandatory pre-trek briefing at Casa Intrepid at 5:00 PM the day before departure. Here, you’ll meet your guide, review the route, and receive your duffle bag (max 5 kg) for essentials. Porters or horses will carry these bags along with camping gear and food. Please store any extra luggage at your hotel or Casa Intrepid by 7:00 PM the night before—no luggage drop-offs on the morning of departure.

Day 1: Cusco to Trailhead
Pickup is at 5:00 AM from Plaza Regocijo Square (next to the fountain) or 5:15 AM from your hotel if you booked pre-trip accommodation. Travel by private vehicle to the trailhead and meet your trekking team.
Inca Trail Route: Start at Km 82 (2,688 m). Trek approx. 12 km over 8 hours, gaining 412 m in elevation. Pass Inca sites like Ollantaytambo, Huillca Raccay, and Llactapata, with stunning views of Veronica Peak. Camp at 3,100 m and enjoy a freshly prepared dinner.
Quarry Trail Route: Begin at Choquequilla (3,220 m), a ceremonial site where Incas worshipped the moon. Trek approx. 7 km over 6.5 hours, gaining 480 m. Explore Qory Song’o hill, sacred tombs, and the Perolniyoc waterfall. Camp at 3,700 m after visiting Q’orimarca ruins, once an Inca checkpoint.

Day 2: Into the Andes
Inca Trail: Continue uphill through cloud forests and ancient stone paths. Expect approx. 7 hours of trekking, reaching higher passes with panoramic views.
Quarry Trail: Cross remote valleys and ascend toward the highest pass at 4,450 m, surrounded by dramatic peaks. Horses carry gear; you focus on the hike and scenery.

Day 3: Approach Machu Picchu
Inca Trail: Trek through lush forests and archaeological sites, arriving at the Sun Gate for your first magical view of Machu Picchu.
Quarry Trail: Descend toward Ollantaytambo and transfer to Aguas Calientes for a hotel stay before visiting Machu Picchu.

Day 4: Machu Picchu Guided Tour
Wake early for a guided tour of Machu Picchu, exploring temples, terraces, and hidden corners of this UNESCO World Heritage Site. Learn about Inca engineering and culture before returning to Cusco.
