Most visitors to Banff see the park in the middle of the day — crowded parking lots, flat overhead light, and a rushed checklist of stops. This tour takes you out in the evening, when the park transforms.

Starting two hours before sunset, your guide takes you to a sequence of viewpoints and lakeshores timed to the evening light. You'll watch the mountains change colour as the sun drops, see lakes go still and reflective, and experience the kind of quiet that only comes when the daytime crowds have left.

Stops include Lake Minnewanka, Two Jack Lake, the Mount Norquay switchback lookout, and Vermilion Lakes — where the tour finishes with a full sunset view over the Canadian Rockies. Your guide knows the exact pullouts, the best angles, and the timing that makes each stop worth visiting in the evening rather than the afternoon.

Evening is also when wildlife in the Bow Valley is most active. Elk, deer, and bears are regularly spotted along the route, and your guide carries a professional-grade spotting scope so the group can get close-up views without disturbing animals or leaving the viewpoint. Wildlife sightings are a common bonus of the route — not a guarantee.

This is a relaxed, small-group experience with pickup available in both Canmore and Banff. No hiking required. You'll step out of the vehicle at each stop, but the pace is easy and accessible for all ages and fitness levels.
