The wild beauty of southern Tanzania takes centre stage on this two‑day Nyerere National Park safari. Day one eases into motion with a hotel pickup and an afternoon flight from Zanzibar, carrying you straight into one of Africa’s largest and most untouched wilderness areas.

Once you land, you’ll be whisked off on a gentle boat safari along Nyerere’s waterways, with a chance to see hippos bobbing in the shallows, crocodiles warming themselves on the banks and birdlife sweeping low overhead. As evening draws in, you’ll head out in the dark on your first game drive to spot nocturnal animals like bush babies, genets and hyenas that usually keep a low profile during the daytime. You’ll wrap the day with a bush dinner under a sky full of stars, before settling into your five‑star, all‑inclusive stay at Africa Safari Nyerere Lodge. The lodge sits right on the edge of the reserve with wide‑open views over the surrounding bush, so it’s not unusual to catch sight of animals wandering across the plains in the distance.

Breakfast at the lodge sets up day two before you head out on your second game drive across Nyerere’s vast, open savannah, keeping an eye out for elephants wandering the grasslands, lions stalking across the plains and other wildlife like giraffes and zebras appearing as you travel deeper into the park. A bush lunch rounds off your two-day safari adventure before an afternoon flight back to Zanzibar and transfer to your hotel.
