It is surrounded by significant landmarks such as the Monument to the People's Heroes, the Great Hall of the People, the National Museum of China, and the Mausoleum of Mao Zedong.

Tiananmen Square is not only a popular tourist destination, but also a site of great historical importance, having witnessed numerous pivotal events in Chinese history.
