  • Meeting point description: Timed entry ticket option: please get into the security line for the Monument 30 minutes before the scheduled time. Monument ticket with walking tour option: meet your guide by the Jefferson Pier Stone, located just Nrth-West of the Washington Monument, on the National Mall.   • Accessibility:The Monument is wheelchair accessible

  • Not allowed:Smoking, vaporisers, e-cigarettes, food and drink (except water in clear bottles), large bags, or weapons

  • Strollers are not permitted inside the Museum. You must leave the stroller in the designated, unattended parking area outside, often near the entrance or along the side of the building

  • Animals, except service animals

  • Know in advance:Most visitors spend no more than 30 minutes inside the Washington Monument itself

  • The Washington Monument requires all guests to go through physical security screening to access the monument. The security line normally takes around 15-30 minutes but can be even longer on major holidays

  • The Washington Monument operates in rain or shine

  • Minors (17 or under) must be accompanied by an adult (18+)

  • The Washington Monument is a self-guided experience. The small-group guided tour is available only if the correct option is selected in the calendar, and the entrance ticket should take place after the walking tour
