★Enjoy a relaxing paddle on Lake Gassan, a beautiful lake in Tohoku★ 'Lake Gassan Canoe & Packraft Tour - Single Rider Type' This is a guided experience tour where you can enjoy the scenery from the water by paddling on the beautiful 'Lake Gassan' in Nishikawa Town, Yamagata Prefecture, Tohoku, using stable 'tandem canoes' or 'packrafts'. You can enjoy unique experiences such as viewing the secret 'Phantom Waterfall' and the 112-meter-high grand fountain, the tallest in Japan, from the water. Around late October, the surrounding mountains turn into stunning autumn colors. Packrafts are stable, single-rider inflatable canoes/kayaks made of durable material. Because they are stable, we can flexibly adjust the tour based on your preferences—either keeping you relatively dry or, in warmer weather, adding water-based activities like swimming while wearing a life jacket. Basically, this is a flat-water tour on a calm lake, so let's paddle leisurely and discover wonderful scenery. As this is a guided tour, you will start with a safety briefing and instruction on how to operate the equipment on land. With guidance and support throughout, even beginners can participate with peace of mind. Rental of tools and equipment is included, and you will also receive photo data taken by your guide.

All specialized equipment is provided for free!
All specialized equipment necessary for the canoe/packraft experience is provided for free! We provide life jackets (PFDs) and paddles, as well as wetsuits and rain gear depending on the temperature, at no extra cost. Basically, you can participate easily with just clothes that can get wet, a towel, and shoes. During warmer seasons, you are also welcome to participate in your own favorite clothing that you don't mind getting wet.

Explanation and changing. There will be time for filling out forms, receiving explanations, and changing clothes.

Travel and lecture. Move to the lakeshore, receive instructions on paddling and safety, and then start.

Regarding Tour Cancellation:

Packrafts use natural rivers and lakes. If it is difficult to conduct the tour safely due to heavy rain, strong winds, lightning, or issued warnings, the course may be changed or canceled. In the event of cancellation, we will contact you by the night before as much as possible, but due to sudden changes in weather, we may have to contact you on the day of the tour. Please understand this is for safety reasons. If there is no prior notice, the tour will proceed as scheduled.

Notes on Participation:

Basically, anyone who is 12 years old or older, at least 130 cm tall, and in good health can participate. However, we regret that we must refuse participation to those who are intoxicated or under the influence of alcohol (including hangovers), those who are pregnant or may be pregnant, or those who have been forbidden from sports by a doctor or whose health condition could be significantly adversely affected by canoeing/packrafting. Please consult with us in advance if you have any disabilities.

Other Important Notes:

★While there is guide support, lectures, and rescue, this is an activity where falling into the water or getting wet can occur. This is also an activity where you will control the boat yourself.
