Product Info

Join this original tour to discover the most important churches, basilicas and cathedrals in Milan’s Old Town. Immerse yourself in 2,000 years of history of Christianity in Italy, including the stories of first Christians in the Roman Empire. Discover the most important and beautiful examples of Christian architecture and art in Milan.

Choose the 2-hour walking tour to visit 3 historic churches in Milan’s Old Town. You will meet your Private Guide by the San Giovanni in Conca, which is one of the rare examples of the Milanese Romanesque Crypt. From there, you will head to a small, 15th century Church of Santa Maria at San Satiro. It has interesting elements such as a false apse, which creates the effect of a perspective illusion, and gilded interiors with valuable works of Renaissance art.

Another point of interest will be the Basilica di Sant’Ambrogio, which is one of the oldest churches in Milan. Its construction lasted from the 4th to the 11th century, and many original mosaics and artworks can still be admired today. See this historic Romanesque church inside and out and hear the legend of its patron saint, St Ambrose. You will also visit the Basilica di Santa Maria delle Grazie, which is best known for the mural of ‘The Last Supper’ by Leonardo da Vinci. Although tickets to see ‘The Last Supper’ are not included in the itinerary, you will still be amazed by what this 15th century Gothic church has to offer.

Choose the 4-hour option to enrich your experience with a visit to the magnificent Milan Cathedral, also known as the Duomo. It is the most visited church in the city, but with skip-the-line tickets you can jump ahead of the queue and head straight for the entrance. Tickets include access to the Cathedral, Archeological Area, Duomo Museum and Rooftops (by lift). Admire the beautiful facade and interior with amazing Gothic details and countless sculptures, and hear the story of Leonardo da Vinci’s contribution to the final design of the cathedral.
