A walk around the Alhambra Palace, listed by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site, is a must for every visitor to Granada. The Alhambra was built as a fortress in 889 and converted into a royal palace in 1333 by Sultan Yusuf I. The Islamic palaces were built for the last Muslim Emirs in Spain and the court of the Nasrid dynasty.
