Product Info

This snack tour through Lisbon's historic center combines a classic city tour with hearty, local snacks—the perfect combination for lunch time in Lisbon!

Your city guide will take you through the city's three historic neighborhoods in about 2.5 hours, providing commentary in German. In a small group of a maximum of 12 people, you will explore the winding streets of the oldest district, Alfama, as well as the highlights of the Lower City and the literary district of Chiado.

The tour guide's commentary will focus on anecdotes, culture, and the most fascinating events in Portuguese history.

The price of the culinary city tour includes 4 snacks for each participant (2 savory, 1 sweet, 1 liquid). The snacks are selected in such a way that the quantity of food provided will serve as a substitute for your lunch. So feel free to come to the tour hungry!

After meeting your guide at the meeting point in the lower part of Alfama, you will explore the winding streets of the oldest district together and make a stop right at the beginning of the tour to enjoy the famous lunchtime snack known as “bifana.”

After climbing through narrow alleys, you will reach an off-the-beaten-track lookout point overlooking the Tagus River, where you can marvel at the oldest part of Lisbon from above.

Afterward, you will make your way to Lisbon's impressive and sprawling lower town (Baixa). Here, you will sample savory pastries and the traditional sour cherry liqueur (Ginjinha).

During your tour of the Baixa district, you will discover highlights such as Praça do Comércio, the large square on the Tagus River, and the Elevador de Santa Justa funicular – all accompanied by fascinating stories about the city's history and culture, shared by your tour guide in English.

Your guide will then take you to the ruins of Carmo Convent, the site of two pivotal events: the earthquake of 1755 and the end of the dictatorship in 1974.

To round things off, you will sample a sweet pastry, choosing between a delicious, freshly made “pastel de nata” or a lesser-known pastry.

After the culinary city tour, you can continue exploring on your own, starting from the Chiado district. This neighborhood is the perfect base for cafés, shopping, and sightseeing.
